I will have a gimbal for you. We will meet and balance your/my camera the day prior or early morning prior. once the camera is on, do not change lenses and minimize taking it off as often as you can.

Details aren't set in stone but the general itinerary is the main reference of what to expect.

Your main prerogative is to be in front of the bride and groom at all times.

Video Reference for the Grah Shanti

This is a raw recording (what we will be aiming to re-create/capture)

Use this to reference positioning and general actions that will take place during the Grah Shanti

Priorities

*we will discuss this, but ideally, You will be the primary angle for video. I will be shooting hybrid throughout

I'm going to have you act as Pseudo lead Video for this wedding ceremony, basically you will be wherever the bride and groom are. I'll have you shoot with my camera gear so that we can ensure longer battery life

When the dancing happens, I'll have you start and stop recording for each performance in a static angle, panning is fine when needed.

If I decide to head the video portion, or you do not feel comfortable/ready, then I will have you 2nd shooting for Kai with a wide angle. Totally okay if not, but watch the reference video first and make a decision off how you feel you'd be capable of capturing.

Must Have Gear List

Wide Angle

I will have you on my kit lens, but bring your lenses just in case. I can't remember which lenses you have but wider angle is our friend.

Sony a7iii

Though I will have you using my camera for the video, due to better auto focus tech, I'll be using your a7iii for my hybrid work. We'll be sure we have settings aligned so it's all seamless.

Gimbal

If you still have that old gimbal, bring it, it'll be good to have as a back up with our mini camera, just in case

Back up SD card/Batteries

I'll have you on the 512gb card, which should be more than fine, but just in case I'll have you bring a back up

For batteries, You'll ideally change during each transition, or the start of the next ceremony phase when under 50-30%

Priorities

ALL CLIPS MUST BE A MINIMUM OF 10-15secs

Since we are focusing on creating a highlight video, I want you to focus on shorter recording segments but capturing actions/moments as a whole as you can. IF and only IF you can find a 2nd angle during a moment, go for it. Read the room/emotion, if it feels slow, hold the angle, if it feels fast or higher energy, move around but don't disrupt the moment.

You will primarily be behind us/beside us out of camera's way. It is OKAY if Kai and I get in the shot, YOU must adjust around us without disturbance.

Use the gallery above for examples of composition/framing, as well as moments that matter most to keep an eye on. You have the most freedom of the 3 of us, so if you see someone in the audience or someone out and about watching and reacting, capture it!

Most importantly, HAVE FUN. If something makes you feel the magic of a wedding day, get footage of it.

Must Have Gear List

Gimbal

You will have my gimbal for this wedding! We'll balance before hand like before. you shouldn't need to hand held at all

Sony A7iii with Wide Angle

I might rent a lens for you...but if not bring a wide angle with auto focus if you have it! If not, you'll have my kit lens as back up.

LAV Mic Set

I will have a LAV set for you, you'll always have the mount on you, but will need to be sure to retrieve the mic packs after the ceremony and after the speeches. I will help place them!

SD Card

I will have a 256GB card for you to utilize, but as before, bring a back up card or let me know if you need one!

Bring all your batteries as it will be a full day, and I know the batter life on that sony is butts sometimes

Videography Example

We will be aiming to create a highlight video similar to the one I made for Victoria & Brittain.

The key to this style of video is to record at minimum 10-15 seconds at a time. Capturing moments in full segments, and aiming for at least 2 angles or variety in crop per general segment.
